  • Minimum educational qualification is a pass in the Pre-University Exams (PUC / 10+2 / 12th) of Karnataka Board of Education or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects scoring 45% of marks in the science subjects (PCBE aggregate percentage).
  • The candidate should have possessed good health and character.
  • The candidate should have passed qualified exam in not more than 2 attempts.
  • Selected non-Karnataka Candidate should obtain eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences by submitting application, photocopy of certificates and a DD for ₹ 1,000.00

Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery

The programme of study leads to GNM Diploma offered by the Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board, Bangalore, Karnataka.

  • Minimum & maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years respectively.
  • Regular 10+2 class passed, preferably science PCB & English with aggregate of 40% (35% for SC/ST candidates)
  • Regular 10+2 class passed, in subjects other than science (non-science) divisions - 3 optional subjects + English (total 4 subjects) with aggregate of 40% (35% for SC/ST candidates)
  • 10+2 Vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent board school recognised by Indian Nursing Council.
  • Students qualified in 10+2 arts or science examination or health care science vocation stream only conducted by National Institute of Open School
  • The candidate should possess good health and character.

  • Interview & Admission

    1. All candidates fulfilling the admission requirements will be intimated by post or by phone the date, time & venue for interview by post or by phone. Hence the applicants are required to give the contact phone numbers with STD code.

    2. Admission granted is provisional subject to,
    A) Payment of all fees payable to the Institute
    B) Submission of all certificates & testimonials in original as required
    C) Medical fitness certificate

    3) Under no circumstances, the candidate is permitted to discontinue the course after admission. If inevitable, the candidate shall pay full fees for the whole course/tenure.

APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURE

  • The applications can be personally collected from the Institute Office by remitting an amount of ₹ 250 or can be obtained by post by sending a Demand Draft for ₹ 250 drawn in favour of Ashrith School of Nursing/ Ashrith College of Nursing, payable at SBI Saligrama (Udupi576225)

    The completed form should be mailed back with a self addressed along with a DD for ₹ 250 drawn in favour of Ashrith School of Nursing / Ashrith College of Nursing, payable at SBI Saligrama (Udupi-576225)
  • The Candidate is required to read the prospectus and application form carefully before filling the application form.
  • The application form should be filled only by the applicant in her/his own handwriting.
  • The full name of the candidate shall be written as spelt in the SSLC Marks card and all certificates should bear the same name. If any change of name is found it should be authenticated with an affidavit.
  • The information given in the application should be correct. Any false information in the application would lead to disqualification or termination from the Institute.
  • Do not submit any original certificate along with the application form. The original certificates shall be submitted only if candidate is admitted to the course.
  • The original certificates once submitted will not be returned to the candidates until they complete their course of study.
  • If certificate is in a language other than the English it should be translated into English & attested by the Principal of the School / College last attended.
  • Foreign candidates or Indian students who hold of foreign educational Institutes are expected to ascertain their eligibility from respective Boards or Universities before joining the course.
  • For all communication please quote your application number given on the application form and if you need a reply, enclose a stamped, self addressed envelope.
  • The candidate should possess good health, should be free from physical & mental disability.

The following documents, duly attested, should be enclosed with application form

  • Four photo copies of SSLC / SSC / 10th Certificate
  • Four copies of marks card of PUC / 10+2 / 12th
  • Four copies of Physical Fitness Certificate
  • Six copies of Passport size and Four copies of Stamp Size Photos
  • Conduct Certificate
  • Four copies of Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificates
  • Registration Fee of ₹ 250/- by Cash or DD drawn in favour of Ashrith School of Nursing / Ashrith College of Nursing payable at SBI Saligrama (Udupi-576225).

Note: All the originals to be submitted at the time of Admission

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Management will support and assist all scholarships available to students who are found academically or economically deserving.

Internal Assessment:

Each subject will have internal assessment and the marks scored will be added to the Board / University examination. The Institute will conduct three examinations every year.

Annual Examinations:

The students will appear for theory & practical exams conducted by the respective Boards or Universities.

External Education Program:

During the course of studies the students are required to attend training in the other specialized Institutes and duration of this period may be from 10 to 30 days. During this period students are required to bear the expenses.

Academic Progress & Clinical Evaluation:

All students are expected to maintain a high standard of performance in academics and extracurricular activities throughout the program. Students are required to pass in written & practical Sessional exams that are conducted regularly. Those who fail repeatedly will not be allowed to appear for exams or to continue the course.

Graduation:

a. On successful completion of the program the graduates are awarded the certificates for respective degree during the University convocation.
b. Transcript, original certificates and course completion certificate are given only when the graduate meets all the course requirements of the college at the clearance of non-due certificate.
